A Meeting Place

International Happy Hours:

International Happy Hours take place on the second Wednesday of each month starting at 5:30pm. We host this event at different venues around Madison and update our members on the confirmed location by email. We also post the events on this website calendar and on our LinkedIn group page. Members and first time guests are encouraged to attend this free, monthly event.

Lunch and Learns:

Monthly Lunch and Learns take place the third Thursday of each month and run between noon and 1:30pm. We keep our lunches small and a typical turnout is 8-12 people. Venues vary according to time of year and booking availability for private dining rooms but are typically held at the Capitol Chophouse (inside the downtown Madison Hilton). RSVP's are required to attend the lunches. Members and non-members may attend lunches and the associated fees cover all food and soft drinks.

Special Events:

We typically hold 3-4 special events throughout the year. In the spring, we hold a "birthday bash" to celebrate the inception of the International Professionals. We hold this event in late Spring, on a Saturday night, at a venue where we can mix, mingle and dance. In the summer, we hold a large family pot-luck picnic at Dane County park or a large community based party in World Cup summers. Come fall, we hold a members only (and their guests) family house party. In the past, we have had Guy Fawkes Night, Halloween parties, and Mediterranean Nights (complete with Belly Dancers!). To close the year, we hold an annual "Global Opportunities Symposium". This is our chance to bring together speakers on a variety of professional topics to our members, to share our knowledge and advance our careers together.

Community Events:

Throughout the year, we participate in a variety of community based events for local charities and non-profit groups. Our usual commitments include the International Festival at the Overture center in Feb/March, the Science Alliance at the UW event in April, Africa Fest in July, and the Willy Street Festival in September.
